Maintenance

Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. This role ensures compliance with safety standards and utilizes predictive and preventive maintenance practices to support efficient operations. The position plays a key role in achieving the site’s business goals and objectives by maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

Your Role

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Rebuild production machinery including disassembly and reinstallation.

  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but no limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance, HVAC, and carpentry functions.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Obtain quotes for new, rebuilt and used components via internet (eBay), email and phone for cost savings.

  • Maintains oil room barrel placement. Pumps overhead barrels, reorders and schedules waste oil pick up.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • Work off shift or staggered work schedule.

  • Significant experience in diagnosis and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.

  • Millwright experience

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The employee must tolerate the following working conditions: elevated noise levels from operation machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts; skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must frequently push, pull, reach, stoop, bend at the waist, kneel, crouch, lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, or crawl.

  • Able to work in heights up to 40’ inside and outside.

  • Manual dexterity to utilize hand tools.

  • Tolerance to working in a hot and noisy environment.

  • Mobility to move about a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Near visual acuity to read instruments, gauges, prints, and schematics.
